I’m not sure the artist quite gets the concept of “a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…” but these pics are cool nevertheless.

Most people think Luke Skywalker was from some desert planet in the sky, but he was actually a North African dude (I kid, I kid), but film maker and visual artist Rä di Martino visited Tunisia to explore the old Star Wars sets and this is what he found.

(I couldn’t help but laugh at some of the comments though…)

“The nice thing about shooting movies in other countries is you don’t have to clean up after yourselves. Ten bucks says there’s a small superfund site of solvents buried around there somewhere. Set painters aren’t afraid of toxic chemicals. If those pictures were from California someone would probably be looking at a hefty fine.”

“Someone will find those ruins 10K year from now and be confused on what kind of civilization lived there.”
