Okay yeah, so I like beer. I like beer on a Sunday, I like beer on a fun day, beer in a box, beer in a can… how much beer can you drink Sham I Am?

Quite a bit. And I’ve been to some wild parties and been the cause of many of stories over the years, but I can’t say that I’ve ever been to a jam quite like this before.

Would I like to? Hell yeah.

Beer Of Thrones is a parody video that I found on Youtube during their comedy week. Featured on Comediva it shows us what would happen if somebody showed up at our doorstep with a case of Beer Of Thrones… what else? Party time!

But here’s the joke, there actually IS a “Beer of Thrones”, well… sort of. Brewery Ommegang and HBO have partnered up to line of beers based on the popular series. Iron Throne, a blonde ale, is the first beer in the series and it’s inspired by the Douchebag King himself.

“With a Lannister currently on the throne, it made sense to do a delicate, but piercing Golden Blonde Ale with Noble hops” says Phil Leinhart, Ommegang’s brewmaster. “Iron Throne is certainly fair in color and soft in appearance, yet it still possesses a complexity and bite to be on guard for.”

I don’t know about all that if we’re referring to King Joffrey of the House BrotherLandsister, but I like where they’re going with this.

You can find out more about Ommegang here, and in the meantime, grab yourself a drink and let the games begin.
